Vevo’s School program is designed to improve academic performance for all students through the use of technology. By taking part in this program, students can expect significant improvements in their academic results. The program addresses the concerning educational outcomes in South Africa, where only a small percentage of schools achieve strong results in key subjects like Mathematics, Physics, and Accounting. Research has shown that the top 3% of schools in South Africa outperform the remaining 97% in Mathematics grades. This presents a significant opportunity for improvement. However, the focus should not solely be on Grade 12 levels; there needs to be a coordinated effort to improve academic performance from lower grades upwards, utilizing technology as a driving force. For South Africa, the solution needs to be cost-effective, accessible, and practical.
Vevo Schools Program offers a comprehensive solution to meet the needs of the majority of South African schools. The program will provide all subjects required for English Medium schools that offer Afrikaans as a First Additional Language. Students will have access to a Learning Management System, which includes pre-recorded video lessons, worksheets, and self-assessed formative assessments. These learning resources have been developed to align with the CAPS curriculum by experienced and qualified educators. Additionally, we recommend that each school creates a designated Gmail address to receive notifications about student activities.
